Emily & James’ Wedding at Basingstoke Register Office

Morning at the Red Lion Hotel, Basingstoke

This was honestly a really special one for me. I was good friends with Emily in school. 10 years later and here I am photographing her wedding. It means a lot to me that Emily would have me there as her photographer. The day started with Emily and her bridesmaids getting ready at the Red Lion Hotel in Basingstoke, a town on the border of Surrey and Hampshire. Morning prep as you’d expect with 10 (!!!) in the bridal party (I think it was 10.. I lost count!) lots of prosecco, helpful hands sorting out each other’s outfits, and a load laughs as everyone got ready. Personal favourite moment - Emily and James’ son’s face when he saw his mum in her wedding dress for the first time.

An Intimate Ceremony at Basingstoke Register Office

The main event took place at Basingstoke Register Office, Hampshire with about fifty guests filling the room. The ceremony was full of genuine moments; smiles across the aisle, nervous hand squeezes, and a few happy tears. There was no fuss, just an honest celebration and a sense of everyone glad to see these two get married.

Natural wedding photography, Hampshire

After the ceremony, Emily and James caught up with friends outside for a few quick photos before heading off with their guests. There was time for simple portraits, group shots, and a bit of laughter as everyone began to relax. The day was uncomplicated but personal; proof that you don’t need a big venue or a packed timeline to have the best day.

Congratulations to Emily and James!
